I can't believe it has been a year

It was exactly one year ago today when we lost our eleven year old sheltie, Daisie. Most of you know that we now have a sweet girl named Lily, whom we love dearly, but it doesn't ease the pain from the loss of losing Daisie any less.
It's crazy to think of how much we become attached to our pets. In all honesty, Daisie and Lily are almost like our kidlets. My husband and I will not be blessed with children, but we will always have the four-legged variety. I guess that is one of the reasons why I've (we've) taken Daisie's death so hard this year.
I know in some ways I'll always grieve for her. She was my constant companion for so many years, I know I'll always love and miss her.
I hope this year will be easier.

  1. Oh Shellie, I can only imagine how hard it's been for you and your hubby. Big hugs to you both and I hope this coming year is better. Daisie won't ever be forgotten but I hope it at least becomes easier to deal with.

  2. (hugs)

I know it's hard as I lost one of my kitties this year as well and my last remaining kitty is now blind and very, very needy. I dread when we lose him. I bet Lily is wonderful though.

  4. Andi, I know I'm late with this but sending hugs your way. I know how hard it is to lose a beloved furkid. I still miss my Trivo who passed away in 2000. It gets better, but they're always there in your heart. <3
