A Hold on His Heart

A Hold on His Heart is now Available at ARE and Amazon!!

BLURB:

It’s just another day at the office for clerk, Justin Myers. After a fun night at his favorite club, he’s nursing a hangover at his desk, instead of sleeping if off at home in his comfortable bed. To his surprise, a coworker, Preston, goes out of his way to help him feel better.

Even with the headache from hell, Justin begins to slowly realize the seemingly-straight, nerdy engineer might have a crush on him. Because they are so different, Justin doesn't know how he feels about the gentle flirtation and friendship, Preston, so freely offers to him. But as Preston continues to push himself into his life and heart, Justin realizes that love may not have boundaries after all.

Excerpt:

Chapter One

Justin jogged to his cubicle and quickly slid onto his desk chair. He glanced at his watch and gave a sigh of relief. Even though it was only a couple of minutes until eight, he was still on time. Justin opened the top side drawer of his desk and hunted through it until he found the small bottle of Advil. Shaking it a little, he frowned when he didn’t hear any contents rattle inside of it.

Shit. It’s empty.

Silently cursing himself for not refilling the bottle when he took the last two pills a few days ago, he tossed it into the trash and rubbed his aching temples lightly with the tips of his fingers.

Damn, he shouldn't have gone to the club on a work night.

Justin had had intentions of spending his Wednesday night alone chilling out in front of the television, but when his friend Tim called and asked for Justin to meet him and a few more of his friends for three-dollar pitcher night, it was an offer that Justin couldn't refuse.

Now his happy ass sat in his uncomfortable desk chair at work without any medication to help his pounding head, when all Justin really wanted to do was nurse his hangover at home.

Why did I have to do that last tequila shot?

"Good morning, Justin."

Justin glanced up and saw his co-worker, Preston, looking down at him with a small, welcoming smile on his face.

"Morning, Preston," he answered. He glanced at the tall, slim man's khaki pants and blazing yellow shirt and grimaced.

Damn, someone's dressed brightly today. Justin closed his eyes to blot out the offensive color that made his aching head pound even harder.

"I've finished the calculations needed on the Pulaski County job. I'll put the report on your desk in a few minutes," Preston said. Justin jumped when he felt a warm hand settle on his shoulder. "Hey, are you alright? You don't look yourself today."

Justin forced himself to open his eyes and give Preston what he hoped was a pleasant smile despite the man's offensive shirt. "I'm fine. I woke up with a little headache, but I'm sure it'll pass."

Preston cocked his head to the side and a concerned look passed over his face. "Sorry about your headache. Is there anything I can do to help?"

Yeah, change that horrible shirt.

"No," Justin said instead. "I'll be alright, thanks." He gave Preston a wink and turned to the work that waited on his desk. He heard Preston give a quiet sigh and walk away.

Good. He didn't need Preston or his ghastly shirt hovering over him today.

Sasha's in Love

I had to share these pictures to you. I received my paperback copies of, No Greater Love, the other day. My cat, Sasha, is totally in love with the cover art. Apparently, he has a crush on Eros (watch out Keith...lol) and loves to snuggle up to him! It's so funny and too sweet for words :)

I just turned in final edits for The Sweet One. It will be re-released at the end of the month through Mischief Corner Books. I'm thrilled with the new edits and really like the cover art. (Thank you, Freddy) As soon as I get a release date, I'll definitely let y'all know.

A Hold on His Heart will be re-released in July! Whoop!

My Men of Charlestown series should be re-released by the end of the year. I have several works in process. I am currently writing the next book in the Men of Charlestown series, Deimos' book on my Sons of Aphrodite series, a Christmas Story called All I want for Christmas is You and the next book in the Circle of Friends series. As you can tell, I've been very busy and I'm very excited to get my mojo back and get some new releases out there.

More news coming this week. I hope everyone has a great week ahead!! *HUGS*

A Hold on His Heart

It's been an interesting week so far. On the bad side, our air conditioner went out Saturday so we've been suffering with ninety degree weather and no air. The repairman is supposed to be here Friday...please pray for a cold front to hit my area before then! LOL!

On the bright side, A Hold on His Heart is number five on Silver Publishing's Bestselling list right now. This of course could change, but at the moment I'm relishing it made top five. *Grin*

Have a great week everyone:)

Win a copy of A Hold On His Heart!

I have some great news! As many of you know, A Hold on His Heart, will be released this Saturday. I'm thrilled to announce that my upcoming release is part of Silver Publishing's Friday Frenzy contest, which means they are giving away a copy of my book first thing Saturday morning.

Also, I'm giving away at least one copy away to the M/M romance group at Goodreads, so if you're a member there, please head on over and sign up for a chance to win it there too.

I'm super excited about this books release. It will be my last book that will be released this year. As many of you know, I was almost finished with my Christmas story when I had a computer malfunction and I lost it all. Because of this, there will be no Christmas story from me this year. *cries*

Now, I'm concentrating on the next Men of Charlestown book which is called Chandler's Hope. I'm also working on the next Kissed by an Immortal book, another book which will be a surprise and two shorts for two different anthologies one for Silver and the other for MLR Press! I'll definitely keep you informed as I continue to get things done!

Have a great day!

I have great news! A Hold on His Heart will be released on September 22nd!  You can check it out at Silver Publishing's website and is already available to pre-order.

Here is the official blurb for it:

It's just another day at the office for clerk Justin Myers. After a fun night at his favorite club, he's nursing a hangover and wishing he was home instead of work. All Justin wants to do is get through the day unnoticed and hope his pounding head will start to subside. When one of his co-workers, Preston, goes out of his way to help him, he realizes the nerdy engineer has a crush on him. At first, Justin isn't sure what to do with the gentle flirtation and friendship Preston gives him because they are polar opposite of each other. But as Preston continues to edge himself into Justin's life, he realizes that love has no boundaries after all.

Thanks for checking it out!

Busy week behind me...better week ahead

The last couple of weeks have been very busy. My husband's great aunt passed away last week. She was almost 80 and had pneumonia for some time. It wasn't a big surprise that she died, but it was still sad and she'll be very missed.

My father-in-law just celebrated his birthday. This was another long road trip, but at least it was a good one. We enjoyed spending some time with his parents and time seemed to fly by while we were all with each other.

I've just finished the final edits to A Hold on His Heart. It will be released some time in September and I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of cover it's going to have. As usual, I'm both a little nervous and excited about it being released. It's strictly a pick-me-up story between two men who are very different from one another. After writing Angel's Redemption, I decided to lighten things up a little. Now I'm back to normal and really pushing myself to write more angst, but we'll see.

My grandmother is going to turn 84 on Sunday. Originally, we all planned to meet at her house and just have a day of spending some fun and quality time together. Unfortunately, she's not feeling well, so we had to postpone it for the next week. This past year has been very hard on her. She's practically blind, and her heart has been giving her a lot of trouble. She also suffers greatly from the gout, which is very painful and keeps her from doing many things she's always loved to do. She went to the doctor a couple of days ago and was told she's very anemic. They're going to give her some sort of 'blood' shot and also make her take high doses of Iron. To say that I worry about her is an understatement. Many of you know how much she means to me, and between her age and constant health issues, I lose a lot of sleep. But on the bright side, my grandmother is one of the strongest women I know. She's been through a lot of hard times and heart ache in her life and has always worked through it and come out stronger and a better person because of it, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that these health issues can be resolved and she'll be on the road to a speedy recovery.

Above are two pictures of her when she was a young woman...wasn't she a gorgeous? In my eyes, she still is and always will be as beautiful on the inside as she is on the out.

I hope everyone has a great week:)

Have a great weekend:)

It's been a very good weekend. I found out yesterday my latest submission, A Hold On His Heart, was accepted for publication at Silver Publishing! I'm pretty excited about it and whenever I find out the date they expect to publish it, I'll definitely let everyone know.

I've been working hard on my current WIP. Originally I planned to complete it and submit it as part of Silver Publishing's 'Father's Day' submission call, but once I finished it I decided to hold off on it. After I read through it, I really felt the need to revamp it a little and turn it from a Novella to a full length Novel. I think my characters have more to say than what they did, so I'll be continuing to work on it and hopefully get it finished and submitted soon.

I've also been working on the first round of edits for Angel's Redemption. It is the next book in my Men of Charlestown series and the story revolves around Jackson (who makes his first appearance in Daniel's Dream) and Elijah's story. I've been working on Angel's Redemption on and off for over a year, so I'm both excited and nervous about its release. I'm still not exactly sure what day it will be released, but if I had to guess I would say probably the end of May or beginning of June.

My grandmother has been doing better. She still has days she's not feeling as strong and healthy as she should, so I still worry about her. I guess I probably always will. If my grandfather was still alive they would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary a few days ago. Isn't that amazing? My grandparents had a strong marriage and when my grandfather died, my grandmother had to really pick herself up and learn to live an independent life. There are so many things I admire and love about her and her zest for life is one of those things. The picture above is of my grandparents. It was taken not long after they married. I love this picture because it shows how playful they were, and how much they loved each other.  I thought since I've been talking about them, I would share it with you.

I hope everyone has a happy weekend.

Because everyone loves a sweet romance...

Happy Friday!

This has been a pretty good week and hopefully I'll have a productive weekend. I still haven't heard whether or not Silver liked the two manuscripts I submitted last week, and because of it, I've been stalking my email like some crazy person. I'm currently working on the fifth Men of Charlestown book and the next Sons of Aphrodite or Kissed by an Immortal book. It's a hard choice because they are all waiting impatiently in line for their stories to be told.

Don't you love the picture above? I love that kiss! It's so lovely and romantic, I thought it would start off our weekend with some sweetness. We all need a little sweet romance in our lives, right?  I certainly think so!

May your weekend be filled with love and romance...even if it's from reading a good book or two:)

Have a great weekend everyone! *HUGS*

Kissed by Death is released today!!

It's been a great week. Today my newest book, Kissed by Death is being released through Silver Publishing and I'm super excited about it! I've also been writing like crazy this week. I submitted the next book in the Men of Charlestown series, Angel's Redemption AND I also submitted a stand alone book called, A Hold on His Heart for their Brainy Guys submission call.  I've already started stalking my email and I'll definitely let y'all know what happens one way or the other.

I'm now working on two books. I'm working on the next Sons of Aphrodite book and the next book in the Men of Charlestown series. I hope to have at least one of them done by the end of March.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! It's sunny and beautiful here in the sticks, we certainly did not have much of a winter here.

*Hugs*
